Digital competence improvement for the workforce of Vietnam’s banking industry

Abstract
With the goal of promoting Vietnam’s digital economy development in the new period, the Government of Vietnam has identified the banking sector as a pioneer in digital transformation. However, one of the biggest challenges currently faced by the banking sector is the improvement of digital competences among its workforce. It is considered a crucial factor determining the success of the digital transformation process. This study analyzes the current method of assessing digital competence and the digital competence requirements of the banking industry. Based on the study’s findings, some recommendations are made to help the banking industry better improve its workforce’s digital competences in the coming years.
