A study on the innovative behavior in the workplace of employees at the Department of Information Technology, the State Bank of Vietnam

Abstract

Based on research models from domestic and foreign studies, this study identifies four factors affecting innovative behavior in the workplace of officials and employees of the Department of Information Technology under the State Bank of Vietnam. The study conducted in-depth interviews with 8 employees and surveyed 164 employees working for the Department of Information Technology to determine the level of influence of each factor. The study finds that innovative behavior in the workplace of employees is mainly influenced by four main factors, including (1) perceived organizational support; (2) creative passion; (3) work engagement; and (4) sharing knowledge. The most influential factor is perceived organizational support. Based on these findings, the study proposed some solutions about internal communication, the working environment, and training directions to promote innovative behavior in the workplace, helping the Department of Information Technology achieve its goals.
