The impacts of hospital management on the effectiveness of internal control in public hospital in Hanoi city

Abstract

This study explores how the factors of hospital management affecting the effectiveness of internal control in public hospital in Hanoi city. This study is conducted by doing in-depth interviews with 34 subjects including 15 deans, 15 deputy deans, and 4 directors of hospitals in Hanoi city. The study finds out that the hospital management affects the effectiveness of internal control through different aspects, such as control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and hospital monitoring. Based on the study’s findings, some suggestions are made to improve the hospital management and enhance the effectiveness of internal control, contributing to improving the performance of public hospitals.
