Web 3.0 has been used widely around the world thanks to its outstanding and effective features. However, the concept and characteristics of Web 3.0 are still quite new to many people. Based on articles and reports, this paper presents an overview on Web generations to highlight the inevitable development of Web 3.0. The paper introduces the concept and characteristics of some applications of Web 3.0 in practice, and also points out problems of deploying Web 3.0. Based on the paper’s findings, some recommendations are made to promote the application of Web 3.0 in the current digital transformation process.
