Abstract
This study explores leadership styles and how leadership behaviors influence the work motivation of Generation Z (Gen Z) employees in hotels in Hanoi. Using a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews of 30 employees across different hotel departments, the findings indicate that employees’ motivation is significantly shaped by daily leadership experiences. Managerial support and recognition activities are identified as the most influential factors affecting effort, proactiveness, and job engagement. The study also highlights the gap between traditional management practices and the expectations of younger employees, thereby proposing managerial implications to improve human resource management effectiveness in the hospitality sector.
