Enterprise management competency framework in digital transformation of logistics in Vietnam

Abstract

This study analyzes the enterprise management competency framework in logistics digital transformation in Vietnam based on the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities theory. The study identifies six core competency groups required for logistics firms to achieve effective digital transformation, including strategic orientation, process standardization, data governance, technology selection and integration, digital workforce development, and logistics ecosystem connectivity. The findings indicate that while Vietnamese logistics firms have improved their technological capabilities, a significant gap remains between awareness and execution capacity, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises. The study suggests that effective digital transformation requires a shift from a technology adoption mindset to data-driven management aligned with capability development at each stage.
