The impact of foodscape on culinary tourism in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

With the growing development of tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, diversifying and improving tourism products has become essential, with culinary tourism standing out as a key segment. Beyond factors such as taste, dishes, ingredients, preparation, and dining behavior, the local values of the foodscape significantly influence tourists’ experiences. By combining literature review, secondary data analysis, and field surveys, this study provides insights into the components of foodscape and its strengths in tourism development in Ho Chi Minh City. The findings clarify the current situation, potential, and impacts of foodscape elements on culinary tourism at the destination, thereby contributing to strategic directions for tourism managers and businesses toward sustainable tourism development.
