Skills Development and Employability Retention among Workers in the Face of the Impact of Artificial Intelligence
Published: October 23, 2026
Abstract
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), especially generative AI, is changing the structure of employment and placing new demands on workers’ knowledge, skills, and adaptability. This article focuses on analyzing the impact of this process on knowledge updating, retraining, and occupational adaptability, and from there examines the relationship with maintaining employment status and job opportunities. Previous studies show that workers need to regularly update their knowledge and skills to meet new job requirements. However, additional learning is truly meaningful only when workers recognize its value and the changes involved and know how to apply what they have learned in practice. On that basis, the article proposes several implications for Vietnamese enterprises in human resource development in the face of the increasingly evident impact of AI.
