Impact of Agile methodology on IT personnel motivation in Vietnamese joint-stock commercial banks

Abstract
This study addresses the practical challenges of workload pressure and employee turnover in the Information Technology (IT) departments of Vietnamese joint-stock commercial banks. It aims to examine the impact of Agile project management methodology on the work motivation of IT personnel. Using a quantitative research approach based on survey data from 403 IT employees working at various joint-stock commercial banks, the findings reveal that all four core characteristics of Agile positively influence work motivation. Based on these results, the study proposes four key managerial solutions to support bank leaders in improving Agile implementation, fostering a more flexible work environment, retaining talent, and strengthening competitiveness in the digital banking transformation process.
