Identifying factors for logistics infrastructure development toward a greener environment in Ho Chi Minh City
Published: September 7, 2026
Abstract
This study identifies potential logistics infrastructure factors that may contribute to green environmental protection goals in Ho Chi Minh City. Using a literature review and content analysis, the study compares relevant theoretical perspectives with empirical data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies. Six groups of factors are identified: green technological innovation, green transportation, smart warehousing, green management capability, supportive policies, and supply chain integration. These factors have the potential to optimize resource utilization, reduce emissions, and alleviate pressure on urban land resources. The study proposes a context-specific reference framework and recommends carbon taxation and green credit policies at the governmental level, while businesses should invest in warehouse automation and clean transportation to support the development of a sustainable logistics ecosystem.
