Smart logistics and the competitiveness of Vietnamese logistics enterprises in global supply chains
Published: August 14, 2026
Abstract
Smart logistics is becoming essential amid digital transformation and the restructuring of global supply chains. In Vietnam, the rapid growth of e-commerce and digital technologies is encouraging logistics enterprises to adopt automation, strengthen connectivity, and improve operational efficiency. Technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data help optimize supply chains, reduce costs, enhance traceability, improve service quality, and strengthen adaptability to market disruptions. However, implementation remains constrained by limited financial resources, shortages of digitally skilled personnel, inadequate digital infrastructure, weak system integration, and insufficient management capabilities. This study analyzes the current adoption of smart logistics in Vietnam and proposes solutions involving institutional improvement, national logistics data infrastructure, technology partnerships, digital workforce development, and service upgrading. These measures can enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese logistics enterprises and support deeper participation in global supply chains.
