Binh Duong Province’s advantages in administrative unit consolidation: A migrant labor perspective

This study analyzes the role of migrant labor in Binh Duong Province’s administrative unit consolidation amid the restructuring of regional development space. The study combines document analysis, statistical data, and socioeconomic planning information with an interdisciplinary approach involving demography, urban economics, and regional governance. The findings show that migrant workers constitute an important advantage by supporting industrial growth, accelerating urbanization, improving competitiveness, and facilitating the reorganization of administrative units. However, rapid migration also creates pressure on housing, public services, infrastructure, labor quality, and spatial development. The study proposes solutions to improve workforce planning, vocational training, social welfare, infrastructure provision, and regional labor coordination, thereby optimizing migrant human resources in the new administrative and development context.
