Green accounting education at Dong Nai University: Current situation and development orientation

Amid the growing imperative of sustainable development and green transformation in the global economy, green accounting has become increasingly integral to corporate governance. This study examines the development of green accounting education and its alignment with labor market demands, focusing on Dong Nai University. Adopting a qualitative approach, the research synthesizes secondary data and incorporates survey evidence from 224 students and eight accounting lecturers. The findings systematize the theoretical foundations of green accounting, assess the current state of its integration into the university’s accounting curriculum, and evaluate its relevance to the practical needs of enterprises in Dong Nai Province. Overall, the study provides a comprehensive assessment of the readiness of accounting education to support sustainability-oriented business practices and highlights the evolving role of human capital in advancing green transformation.
