Factors influencing consumers’ purchase intention toward energy-efficient household appliances in Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing consumers’ purchase intention toward energy-efficient household appliances in Ho Chi Minh City and assesses the relative strength of their effects. Using empirical analysis, the research identifies key determinants shaping consumers’ decision-making processes in the context of sustainable consumption. The findings reveal that perceived usefulness exerts the strongest influence on purchase intention (β = 0.403), followed by subjective norms (β = 0.246) and consumer attitude toward energy-efficient appliances (β = 0.213). Overall, the results provide empirical evidence on the behavioral drivers of energy-efficient appliance adoption in an urban Vietnamese context.
