Determinants of electric vehicle adoption in urban logistics: Evidence from Hanoi

Abstract
This study investigates the factors influencing the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in urban logistics in Hanoi. Data were collected from 310 valid survey responses and analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that six factors: cost, technology, operational efficiency, infrastructure, policy support, and environmental awareness, exert statistically significant positive effects on the intention to adopt EVs, with cost emerging as the most influential determinant. These findings provide empirical evidence on the drivers of EV adoption and offer important policy implications for advancing green logistics and promoting sustainable urban transportation in Vietnam.
