Stimulus-driven determinants of consumer intentions to adopt electric taxi services in Hanoi

Abstract
Against the backdrop of escalating urban pollution and Hanoi’s planned ban on gasoline-powered vehicles by 2026, this study investigates consumer intentions toward electric taxi adoption. Drawing on the Stimulus – Organism - Response (S - O- R) framework, survey data from 264 respondents were analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that policy-related factors constitute the most influential stimulus shaping behavioral intention, while perceived utility exerts the strongest direct effect on choice intention. These results underscore the primacy of functional benefits and convenience over environmental considerations in driving consumer adoption of electric taxi services.
