The development of smart logistics and research directions in the coming time

Abstract

Globalization and digital transformation in manufacturing, service and other sectors have brought challenges and opportunities for the logistics industry. Therefore, smart logistics is the optimal solution to handle the increasing complexity and growing volume of logistics operations. Technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), information and communications technology (ICT) and artificial intelligence (AI) enable logistics operations to be handled efficiently with minimum resources. This paper explores the smart logistics management, and studies the application of basic technologies, related management systems and optimization problems of smart logistics management systems. Theories which are studied in this paper are based on some published scientific works, and practical needs. Based on the paper’s findings, some directions for further researches on smart logistics are proposed.
