Applying 5S system to boost productivity at the finishing process of printed products unit of Song Lam Packaging Production and Trading Co., Ltd

Customers in the printing and packaging industry do not only demand improvements in product quality but also working style enhancements which create a certain trust with products. The 5S system is applied to ensure a safe working environment for employees, thereby creating motivation, increasing performance and productivity, reducing waste and saving time. The data collected from the working conditions of Song Lam Packaging Production and Trading Co., Ltd shows that the 5S system is suitable for the company’s conditions. Based on the paper’s findings, some solutions are proposed to help packaging manufacturers improve their performance and product quality.
