Motivating employees working at Binh Chanh Power Company, Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

Motivating employees is an important aspect of human resource management. This issue has attracted the attention of many managers and scientists in recent years. Based on theories of work motivation, this paper analyzes and evaluates the process of motivating employees at Binh Chanh Power Company, Ho Chi Minh City with five criteria, including: salary and bonus; working arrangement; training, retraining, and planning; evaluation, emulation and commendation; and work environment. The study finds out that besides some encouraging results, the process of motivating employees at Binh Chanh Power Company still has limitations. Some recommendations are proposed to improve the company’s process of motivating employees in the coming time.
