Developing a learning society in Vietnam and lessons learned from Japan

Developing a learning society is a trend in the world. In Japan, building a learning society has become a long-term goal in the national education reform and it serves as an engine of sustainable growth. Japan’s process of building a learning society has left many valuable lessons for other countries. This paper analyzes Japan’s process of building a learning society and draws some lessons learned for Vietnam.
