Policy communication activities of central banks - perspectives from the European Central Bank

Abstract

Policy communication activities of central banks have been developed to become an important tool in the tool system of central banks. With many years of experience in doing policy communication to influence macro goals, policy communication activities of the European Central Bank (ECB) have gained encouraging results, making an important contribution in the ECB’s successful monetary policy management. This study is to clarify the policy communication of the ECB, and the methods for measuring the impacts of the ECB’s policy communication.
