An Overview of the Integrated Teaching Approach in the New General Education Curriculum for Junior High Schools

The integrated teaching approach is a common trend in general education systems around the world. In Vietnam, integrated subjects such as Natural Sciences and History and Geography have been introduced into the new general education curriculum since the 2021-2022 academic year. Implementing integrated teaching contributes to the development of students’ competencies, particularly their ability to act and solve problems. This paper provides an overview of the integrated teaching approach and presents several examples of its implementation in the Grade 6 curriculum under the new general education program.
