Developing the framework for spiritual tourism research

Abstract
This paper focuses on the development of spiritual tourism models and distinguishing the concept of spiritual tourism from religious tourism. Spiritual tourism is to self-directed travel to find personal relaxation. The outstanding aspects of spiritual tourism show that this tourism type offers unique opportunities in helping people nurture and develop their spirituality via spiritual tourism activities or experiences. This paper’s findings are expected to serve as a reference for future authors and researchers related to spiritual tourism.
