A review study on tourists' behavior toward craft village heritage conservation

Abstract

The conservation of craft village heritage encompasses not only the safeguarding of traditional techniques and distinctive products but also the preservation of historical, cultural, and communal bonds nurtured over successive generations. Amid rapid societal transformations, many craft villages face the risk of gradual decline, highlighting a critical need for collective engagement among all stakeholders rather than exclusive dependence on local authorities or regulatory agencies. This review examines tourist perceptions, with particular emphasis on the effect of visitor engagement and brand‐experience interactions on efforts to protect craft village heritage. Results demonstrate that active tourist involvement constitutes a vital asset for heritage conservation initiatives and simultaneously advances sustainable tourism development.
