Abstract
Global warming driven by greenhouse gas emissions - primarily CO₂ along with CH₄, CFCs, N₂O, and other gases - poses a critical challenge for all nations. The Paris Agreement, negotiated by 196 countries at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference and entered into force in 2016, together with the Glasgow Climate Pact (COP26) endorsed by 197 participants, establishes the framework for climate mitigation. Vietnam’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 underscores the urgency of corporate action. This paper presents the methodological approach for a greenhouse gas inventory, quantifies emissions stemming from energy-consuming activities, and applies the procedure to a representative enterprise. Based on the case study of Viet-Nhat Safety Glass Joint Stock Company, a series of concrete measures are proposed to reduce energy consumption during 2025 - 2030, alongside strategic recommendations extending to 2050. Adoption of these measures will contribute meaningfully to both the company’s sustainability performance and the nation’s broader emission-reduction targets.
