Enhancing science and technology integration across sectors in Vietnam: Opportunities and institutional challenges

In the context of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, enhancing the integration of science and technology across socio-economic sectors has become essential for improving national productivity, quality, and competitiveness. For Vietnam, transitioning from a labor-intensive economy to a growth model driven by innovation, investment, and technological application is an inevitable trajectory. However, this transformation faces significant barriers related to institutional frameworks, legal policies, and enforcement mechanisms. Drawing on secondary data, this study analyzes the current status and progress of science and technology integration in Vietnam’s key sectors. It also identifies critical factors that enable enterprises to proactively adopt and adapt to technological advancements, offering insights and recommendations to strengthen Vietnam’s competitiveness in the coming years.
