Factors affecting young people’s intention to engage in experiential tourism

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing young people’s intention to engage in experiential tourism. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative insights and quantitative data collected from 200 participants aged 18 to 25 to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that reference groups have the strongest impact on the experiential tourism intentions of young people, followed by personal demand factors, while destination image exerts the weakest influence. The study provides valuable insights for experiential tourism businesses, offering practical guidance to develop more effective marketing and engagement strategies tailored to the youth segment.
