Emerging technologies and applications in accommodation management

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information and communication technology (ICT) is driving transformative changes across industries, including the accommodation sector. This article examines the applications of four pioneering technologies—artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data analytics—in accommodation management. The findings demonstrate that these technologies enhance operational efficiency, streamline management processes, and revolutionize customer interactions, paving the way for the adoption of "smart hotel" models. However, this study also highlighted challenges such as high investment costs, data security concerns, and the need for workforce retraining. The insights provided are valuable for managers, accommodation businesses, and educational institutions in the tourism-hospitality sector to develop effective digital transformation strategies.
