Factors influencing employee retention: a study on middle management of a logistics company in Cambodia
Published: July 28, 2026
Abstract
Retention of employees, especially mid-level managers in the supply chain management sector, is facing numerous challenges due to high demand and limited workforce. This study identifes key factors influencing mid-level manager retention at CDE Logistics as follows: training & development, benefts & salary, employee motivation, communication, work environment, superior-subordinate relationships, and organizational structure. It proposes using internal and external motivational tools (Vaiman et al., 2008) to reduce turnover rates, along with a strategy to focus on internal talent development rather than long-term external recruitment.
