Strategic Directions for the Development of Vietnam’s Semiconductor Industry

The semiconductor industry is considered a key field in Vietnam’s development strategy. Besides the strength of mineral resources, to develop the semiconductor industry, the core factor is human resources. However, Vietnam's human resources for the semiconductor industry are both lacking in terms of quantity and expertise. In this study, the SWOT matrix was used to find out the strategic directions for the development of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry. These development directions include the expansion of international cooperation in human resource training, investment in production activities, and cooperation with partners that own the most advanced technology in order to help Vietnam master core technology. This study also made some recommendationsto develop human resourcesfor Vietnam'ssemiconductor industry.
