The Impact of Digital Transformation on Economic Growth in Vietnam

Abstract
This study examined the relationship between digital transformation and the economic growth of major cities in Vietnam. Data on local gross domestic product (GRDP), investment capital, and the labor force were collected and calculated from the statistical yearbooks of several cities and provinces, including Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai, in the period from 2015 to 2022. Data on digital transformation are indicators such as the readiness index for information technology application and development, the information technology infrastructure index, the information technology human resource index, and the information technology application index. Based on the study’s findings, several implications were proposed for businesses and the government to enhance and facilitate digital transformation efforts nationwide.
