A study on the behavior of students when using electronic payment methods: A case of university students in Hanoi

Abstract

This study explored the main factors affecting the switching behavior of students in Hanoi from cash to electronic payments through a combination of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM) framework. The results show that the usefulness of alternative methods is the most influential pulling factor, followed by the flexibility factor. Regarding pulling factors, ease of use has an indirect impact on students' switching behavior through the perceived flexibility of electronic payment. Moreover, the change-loving personality plays an important role in the switching behavior of students.
