THE PARTICIPATION OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN ECOTOURISM ACTIVITIES IN THE YANG BAY TOURIST AREA, KHANH VINH DISTRICT, KHANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract
Local communities play an important role in tourism development, acting as a foundation and a driving force towards sustainable development goals. This study analyzed the participation of local communities in tourism activities in the Yang Bay tourist area. The study found that community participation in tourism activities is spontaneous with low efficiency. Due to strategic planning and local tourism development plans, the participation of communities is focused mainly on the functional level. The study also identified factors and barriers that limit the participation of communities in tourism activities. Some implications were proposed to promote the participation of local communities in ecotourism activities in the Yang Bay tourist area.
