Factors impacting the job satisfaction of office workers in Ho Chi Minh City: The mediating role of the satisfaction of psychological needs

Abstract

This study evaluated the impact of objective factors (autonomy at work, training and development) and subjective factors (emotional intelligence and personality traits) on the job satisfaction of office workers in Ho Chi Minh City through the mediating role of the satisfaction of psychological needs. A mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research, was employed. A total of 174 valid samples were analyzed using SmartPLS. The results indicate that all subjective and objective factors have statistically significant effects on job satisfaction through the mediating role of the satisfaction of psychological needs. The study suggests that managers should build a cohesive organizational culture, diversify training policies, establish flexible work processes, and pay greater attention to employees' psychological well-being.
