Abstract
This study examines trade openness in the Vietnamese economy, with a focus on the current state of exports and imports and the pivotal role of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises. Utilizing empirical data, the study highlights the significance of international trade in driving Vietnam's economic growth while identifying key challenges amid global economic fluctuations. The analysis addresses concerns related to the heavy reliance on the FDI sector, persistent trade deficits with specific markets, and the rising trend of trade protectionism in several countries. Based on these insights, the study proposes solutions to enhance the resilience and sustainability of Vietnam’s trade development.
