The impact of green human resource management practices on employee green behavior: evidence from Vietnam's aviation industry

Abstract

This study examines the impact of green human resource management (HRM) practices on employee green behavior, emphasizing the mediating role of green commitment. Drawing on a strong theoretical framework and prior research, a comprehensive research model was developed and tested using a sample of 120 employees from Vietnamese airlines. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis, conducted via SmartPLS 4.0, confirms that green HRM practices significantly influence both employees' green commitment and green behavior. Moreover, green commitment partially mediates this relationship, highlighting its crucial role in shaping sustainable workplace behaviors. These findings provide valuable insights for Vietnamese airlines, demonstrating how HRM policies can be leveraged to foster environmentally responsible employee actions.
