Copyright infringement issue in Hanoi’s universities

Abstract

This study examines copyright infringement in higher education by analyzing its prevalence and the factors influencing students' intention to infringe at selected universities in Hanoi. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and empirical research, the study develops a testing model based on survey data from 435 students across three major universities: Foreign Trade University, Academy of Journalism and Communication, and University of Commerce. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is employed to analyze the data. The findings reveal that risk perception, ethical obligations, and technological development significantly impact students' behavior, while attitude and subjective norms serve as mediating factors influencing infringement intentions.
