Borrow-and-Return shopping bag model for travellers to reduce single-use plastics in Hue City

Taking advantage of the achievements of digital technology, the Everything as a Service (XaaS) trend opens up many new business opportunities with a variety of solutions that integrate elements such as technical breakthroughs, information technology infrastructure, and adaptable service thinking (agile, customer-centric, etc.). This paper focuses on analyzing the necessity, feasibility, and customer characteristics of the "borrow-and-return shopping bag model," a new business model based on the XaaS trend, when this model is deployed in Hue City. Based on the paper’s findings, some solutions are proposed to contribute to reducing disposable plastic waste, especially from tourism activities.
