Improving regulations on re-inspection

Re-inspection is the act of inspection for a second time when the inspection agency has concluded a case but signs of law violations are still detected. Re-inspection aims to detect errors during the initial inspection process to detect and handle law violations. This paper analyzes current regulations on re-inspection in terms of (i) grounds for re-inspection, (ii) re-inspection authority, (iii) statute of limitations and re-inspection period, and (iv) re-inspection order and procedures. In addition, the paper analyzes the limitations of current regulations on the type of re-inspection as well as the objects of re-inspection. Based on the paper’s analysis, some recommendations are proposed to improve regulations on re-inspection.
