Trong bối cảnh chia sẻ tri thức chuyển dịch mạnh hơn ở thế giới ảo, thì tính thể diện (face concern) đối với văn hóa Việt vẫn rất được coi trọng và càng có xu hướng gia tăng. Về mặt tâm lý học, cá nhân sẽ cố gắng duy trì và nâng cao danh tiếng này để thể hiện bản thân. Nhưng nếu lòng tin bị yếu tố lo lắng chi phối về sự thất bại hoặc các kỳ vọng tồi tệ khi chia sẻ sai tri thức, sẽ ảnh hưởng đến hành vi chia sẻ tri thức của các giảng viên. Nghiên cứu này làm rõ và đo lường mức độ ảnh hưởng của biến “sự lo lắng bị mất thể diện” và vai trò điều tiết trong quá trình tạo dựng lòng tin đến hành vi chia sẻ tri thức của các giảng viên. Kết quả của nghiên cứu này cung cấp một cơ sở lý thuyết, cũng như các yếu tố ảnh hưởng tới sự gia tăng hành vi chia sẻ của các giảng viên trong cộng đồng khoa học, gia tăng lòng tin với đồng nghiệp, với các học giả trong thời đại của mạng ảo ngày càng phát triển.
