The application of Big Data in retail industry - Case study of Walmart

Abstract

Big Data is one of the Fourth Industrial Revolution’s key technologies. This paper presents an overview on Big Data, the case study about how Walmart use Big Data to build its competitive advantages and gain benefits, such as shopping optimization, predictive customer shopping behavior analytics, inventory management, checkout process improvement, mobile analytics, etc. The paper also points out the benefits.
