The corporate governance of joint-stock companies in Vietnam: Influencing factors and directions to improve related regulations

Abstract
In Vietnam, the Law on Enterprises (1999, 2005, 2014 and 2020) has partly solved some corporate governance problems. However, current regulations on corporate governance are quite incomplete and some regulations are not in line with international practices. In addition, the corporate governance is influenced by many factors. As a result, it is necessary to find out a direction to improve the quality of regulations on corporate governance. This study explores the factors affecting the corporate governance of joint-stock companies in Vietnam, thereby proposing some directions to improve related regulations.
