Analyzing the economic efficiency of sericulture farming households in Yen Bai province

This study analyzes the economic efficiency of sericulture farmers in Van Chan and Tran Yen districts, Yen Bai province. The study’s data is collected through surveys with 40 sericulture farming households in these two districts. The study finds out that households using VH2020 silkworm breeds and new mulberry varieties such as VH9, VH13, and GQ2 have a higher economic efficiency. The growth rate of these households’ income is also higher than that of other households. Based on the study’s findings, to improve the economic efficiency of sericulture farmers, it is necessary to further support farmers gain knowledge, have good silkworm varieties and mulberry varieties, and also better connect to the market.
