Chemical composition and antioxidant activity of essential oil from Ageratum conyzoides L. (Asteraceae)

Abstract

Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu nhằm phân tích thành phần hóa học và đ&aThis study aims to analyze the chemical composition and evaluate the antioxidant activity of essential oil extracted from the aerial parts of Ageratum conyzoides L. The plant samples were collected in Binh Duong and the essential oil was obtained using hydrodistillation. The chemical composition was determined by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS), while antioxidant activity was assessed using the DPPH free radical scavenging method. The results showed that the essential oil yield reached 0.32%. The major components included α-santalene (16.44%), α-humulene (14.57%), germacrene D (8.63%), α-pinene (6.43%), and spathulenol (6.37%). The essential oil exhibited moderate antioxidant activity with an SC50 value of 6.192 mg/mL.acute;nh giá khả năng chống oxy hóa của tinh dầu phần trên mặt đất cỏ cứt lợn (Ageratum conyzoides L).
