Application of artificial intelligence in commercial arbitration: Opportunities, challenges, and requirements for improving Vietnamese law

Abstract

This study examines the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in dispute resolution through commercial arbitration in the context of digital transformation. Based on the analysis of several typical AI applications in arbitration activities, the study evaluates the potential, opportunities, and challenges of AI adoption in commercial arbitration in Vietnam in line with national policies on science and technology development, innovation, and the digital economy. The study also identifies legal challenges arising from the use of AI and proposes orientations for improving the legal framework to ensure that AI applications in commercial arbitration are implemented safely, transparently, and effectively.
