Knowledge, attitudes, and associated factors related to emergency contraceptive pills among second-year students at the College of Medicine and Pharmacy, Tra Vinh University

This study assessed knowledge of and attitudes toward emergency contraceptive pills (ECPs), as well as related factors, among second-year students at the College of Medicine and Pharmacy, Tra Vinh University. The findings indicated that the majority of students had good knowledge of ECPs (70.3%) and positive attitudes toward their use (57.3%). Significant associations were found between students’ knowledge and academic major, prior exposure to ECP-related information (p < 0.001), and participation in reproductive health courses (p = 0.002). In addition, attitudes toward ECPs were significantly associated with academic major (p < 0.001). These findings highlight the importance of reproductive health education in improving students’ understanding of and attitudes toward emergency contraception.
