Improving The legal Framework for Traditional Medicine healthcare services in the New Era of National Development

Abstract

Notice No. 68-TB/VPTW dated May 26, 2026 sets out new orientations for the development of Vietnamese traditional medicine, linked to medical examination and treatment, healthcare, medicinal materials, and the preservation of traditional knowledge. This study analyzes the orientations of Notice No. 68-TB/VPTW in relation to the 2023 Law on Medical Examination and Treatment and other relevant legal provisions, thereby identifying a number of issues concerning the legal framework for traditional medicine services. On that basis, the article proposes several recommendations for improving the law in order to create favorable conditions for the development of traditional medicine services in the new period.
