Perceived value in online second-hand luxury shopping and purchase intention toward pre-owned luxury fashion products

Abstract

The online second-hand luxury fashion market has expanded rapidly, yet the factors driving consumer purchasing behavior remain insufficiently understood. This study employs a qualitative case-study approach to explore the role of perceived value in online second-hand luxury consumption. The findings indicate that perceived value is an important factor influencing consumers’ choices of second-hand luxury products and is also associated with both purchase intention and recommendation intention. The study further clarifies the motivations underlying consumers’ participation in the online second-hand luxury market. Based on these findings, the study proposes several managerial implications to help retailers enhance perceived value, attract customers, and promote online purchases of second-hand luxury products.
