Developing tourism product chains connecting longitudinal and transverse corridors and tourism clusters in Quang Ninh Province

Abstract

Quang Ninh Province has diverse tourism resources, but tourism products remain fragmented and tourist flows are concentrated at a limited number of destinations and peak periods. This study proposes tourism product chains organized through longitudinal corridors, transverse corridors, and key tourism clusters to expand tourism space and promote four-season tourism. Using literature review, systems analysis, comparisons of resources, products, and seasonality, and spatial chain design, the study identifies three longitudinal chains, three transverse chains, and four complementary tourism clusters. Smart connectivity solutions, including tourism data management, integrated electronic ticketing, and “Four-Season Quang Ninh” packages, are proposed to regulate tourist flows, improve resource utilization, strengthen spatial linkages, and enhance destination competitiveness.
