Enhancing human resource quality to meet the requirements of trade and digital economy development in Vietnam today

This study analyzes the requirements for human resource quality in the development of trade and the digital economy in Vietnam. Using document analysis, synthesis, comparison, and descriptive statistics, the study assesses the current state of human resources and identifies limitations in qualifications, digital skills, and adaptability to the digital business environment. The findings indicate that rapid developments in e-commerce, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital platforms require workers to integrate professional expertise with technological competence, continuous learning, risk management, and international integration skills. Based on these findings, the study proposes solutions focusing on curriculum reform, stronger university–business collaboration, reskilling and upskilling, attraction of high-quality digital talent, and development of a lifelong-learning ecosystem. These measures are intended to strengthen competitiveness and support the development of trade and the digital economy in Vietnam.
